Hi Fireblocks Team,

I’m building an RWA marketplace and need to understand:

  1. Can I use Fireblocks Tokenization Engine to mint tokens?
  2. Can those tokens interact with my custom marketplace contract?
  3. Can I whitelist my marketplace/escrow contracts?
  4. What functions can I call on whitelisted contracts?
  5. What are the technical limitations?

My contracts:

  • Marketplace: [functions like createListing, purchaseTokens]
  • Escrow: [functions like createEscrow, releaseEscrow]
  • Token: Standard ERC20 with custom metadata

Please advise if this architecture is supported.

Can I use the Fireblocks Tokenization Engine to mint tokens?
Yes. Fireblocks enables you to securely interact with your smart contracts, including minting, transferring, and burning tokens. You can deploy your own custom smart contracts directly from the Fireblocks platform and benefit from the built-in multi-layer security to govern the entire token lifecycle. Additionally, you can leverage any of the pre-audited smart contracts available in our library including interoperability with partners such as LayerZero and Chainlink.

Can those tokens interact with my custom marketplace contract?
Yes. The Tokenization Engine provides all the tools required to manage your token lifecycle — from smart contract deployment to minting, distribution, and burning. Without knowing your marketplace logic in full detail, you can either mint tokens to a Fireblocks wallet and transfer them to your marketplace contract, or mint them directly to the contract address, depending on your design flow.

Can I whitelist my marketplace/escrow contracts?
Yes. You can whitelist your custom contracts and link them to the Tokenization Engine to interact securely via Fireblocks, leveraging the Policy Engine to control and protect all interactions. If your contracts are not yet deployed, you can also upload your custom templates to the Fireblocks library and deploy them directly from the platform.

What functions can I call on whitelisted contracts?
Once linked to the Tokenization Engine, you can call any read or write functions and even apply governance policies at the function level.
For example: for a releaseEscrow function, you could require multiple layers of approval before execution.

What are the technical limitations?
From your description, I don’t foresee any major technical limitations. Just note that tokenization is supported on all Fireblocks-supported chains.
